Fashion’s Night Out 2012

5 Sep

What started in 2009 as Vogue Editor Anna Wintour’s solution to boosting the economy, Fashion’s Night Out is now a night of fun, fashion and shopping to rival Black Friday.

Tomorrow night from 6pm – 11pm participating stores stay open later than usual and provide shoppers with fun extras such as celebrity appearances, free gifts with purchase, DJs, drinks and more.

Don’t forget to pick up an official Fashion’s Night Out T-shirt, which donates 40 percent of their proceeds to the New York City AIDS Fund in the New York City community!

With over 100 events throughout NYC alone (not to mention the other 49 states, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Jamaica) figuring out how to make the best use of your limited time can be difficult. See below for a few of my favorite picks:

Christian Siriano
252 Elizabeth St
The designer of Project Runway fame will conduct a meet and greet at his new flagship concept store. Siriano will sign bags and accessories as well as pose for photos. Each purchase enters shoppers for a chance to win two tickets to the designers Spring 2013 fashion show on September 8.

DVF
874 Washington St
Meet our favorite gallery assistant, Girls star Allison Williams and get style advice from Vogue senior market editor Meredith Melling Burke while M.A.C artists touch up your makeup for the night. The sound track will be provided by special guest DJ Solange Knowles.

Macy’s
Herald Square
Celebrate the opening of The World’s Largest Shoe Floor at a fashion trivia quiz hosted by fashion designer and TV personality Michael Kors. Vogue’s Senior Accessories Editor, Rickie De Sole will show you what the ultimate shoe closet holds!

Moschino
401 W 14th St
This year’s Goldilocks and the Three Bears themed Fashion’s Night Out event will feature a DJ set from fashion icon Alexa Chung. Join us in store for themed surprises that will be “just right”. Refreshments will be served on this “beary” exciting and fun filled evening. Limited edition Moschino iPhone cases, in the form of the iconic Moschino bear, will be available in store for purchase.

New York & Co
715 Lexington Avenue
Meet Style Expert Stacy London, get styled by her and her team of fashion experts from “Style for Hire” with the Fall Collection from NY&C! Also, a chance to get her latest book “The Truth About Style” before it hits the book stores. First 100 customers to make a purchase will receive Stacy’s book with compliments. DJ Scratch Academy will spin, sip Champagne and satisfy your sweet tooth with Dana’s Bakery Macarons..not your ordinary Macarons…
