Honey, Help Me! Elle Women in Hollywood

23 Oct

A lot of celebs are fortunate enough to have stylists that make sure they’re always well dressed. Unfortunately, celebs also have too many yes-men – people who are afraid to tell them they’re making a bad decision.

Between stylist and yes-men sometimes Hollywood’s finest step out in looks that stun us. Other times they step out in looks that just scream, “Honey, Help Me!”

Emma Stone in Valentino

Now I LOOOVE the Peter Pan collar look, and I ADORE the color pink, but this right here just doesn’t work for me. The solid black Valentino Garavani clutch and houndstooth shoes are aimed to tone down the bright pink Valentino dress but it’s still much too flourescent for Emma Stone‘s pale skin and blonde hair. Perhaps had the pink been a lot softer this look would work.

Lea Michele in Zimmerman

This is one of those outfits you dream up and envision being really cool and fashion forward, then you try it on in the mirror and panic because what you thought would be really hot is  a hot mess. Someone needs to tell Lea Michele you can’t throw fringe over your lacey leotard and go straight from dance rehearsal to the red carpet.  One embellishment at a time is all you need. The lace print was enough – she should have had this Zimmerman frock tailored as an ankle length sweetheart cut to keep it simple and avoid this disaster.

Julianne Hough in Calvin Klein Collection

This look is just way too old for Julianne Hough. Except for exposing her bra, the pale yellow Calvin Klein Collection dress does nothing for her figure and should have been accented with bold statement shoes, instead of neutrals. The red lip is too small of an accent and her braided updo, while great on its own, when coupled with this dress makes her look matronly instead of the hot 24 year old star that she is.
