Honey Help Me! Mixing with Black

11 Dec

A lot of celebs are fortunate enough to have stylists that make sure they’re always well dressed. Unfortunately, celebs also have too many yes-men – people who are afraid to tell them they’re making a bad decision.

Between stylist and yes-men sometimes Hollywood’s finest step out in looks that stun us. Other times they step out in looks that just scream, “Honey, Help Me!”

Basic black is the go-to neutral color. When in doubt just throw on something black and you’re automatically chic right? Wrong. Britney Spears, Jennifer Hudson and Amanda Seyfried show us that it is possible to go wrong with black.

It looks like Christina Aguilera isn’t the only grown up pop princess struggling to find clothes that fit her new body, Britney Spears dress for an X Factor viewing party in LA is a horrible fit. Her cleavage is popping out of this floral leather dress, and not in a good way. The spaghetti straps combined the chunky cut out platform shoes are too reminiscent of her glory days in the early 2000s. Not to mention the print of the dress isn’t pretty at all. This was an all together fail.

Singer Jennifer Hudson has done a MUCH better job of finding clothes to fit her body, but this particular time her fashion risk turned out to be a fashion fail. The colors work together yes but leather red shorts and layering a sweater on top of a sweater? She may be smaller than she used to be but this is still too much bulk concentrated on her top half. She should probably could’ve done without the extra sweater and picked a better fitting top.

It’s great that Amanda Seyfried is incorporating trends at the London premiere of Les Miserables but this is just, hmm, wrong. The dress is trying too hard with the flamenco style at the waist AND trickling down her legs, and is this in velvet? Between the plunging neckline, wideset straps and close-toed shoes this dress outfit looks like an awkward struggle to decide how much skin to show.

And that awkward tail poking out of Amanda Seyfreid’s hip is not helping either, lol.
