Dealing with dandruff: three products you need to use

31 Jan

Is anything more embarrassing than trying to conceal 1,000 tiny white flakes as they fall from your head? Try any, or all of these products to help combat an itchy, dry scalp.

Before shampooing, heat up this oil, apply it to your scalp and lock in with either a hot towel or plastic cap. Leave in for 30 minutes and then wash. Continue this procedure and overtime you’ll notice fewer flakes.

Head & Shoulders shampoo

Delicious or Nutritious? Hakata Grill

Sushi can get kind of boring, so lately I’ve made an attempt to try new, creative rolls. Since this doesn’t always work out, when ordering from Hakata Grill I was sure to stick with a tested favorite while trying new things too.

Spider Roll

Spider roll

I liked soft-shell crab the first time I had it, so when I saw they had a Spider Roll made with soft shell crab and avocado I thought it’d be a good idea. Ehh. It was cool but to be honest I would’ve been better off with simple tuna.

Spicy Salmon Roll

The less adventuresome Spicy salmon roll did not disappoint. While trying two adventuresome rolls at once was exciting, it was nice to have some normalcy.

Dragon roll

Dragon roll

My ultimate adventure roll was the Dragon roll. Eel and cucumber with large pieces of avocado on top – INTERESTING! Unfortunately the taste wasn’t as impressive as the description. I’m not sure when or why putting avocado in sushi became a cool idea but it’s not always that great of a combination. In small doses sure but as half the meal, not so much.

IMG_2090I love that they had so many different options. I wish that they’d ration out their avocado a bit more.

With an assortment of different rolls filled with avocado, and  cream cheese that don’t live up to the hype, Hakata Grill is neither DELICIOUS or NUTRITIOUS!

Meet the star of Girl Meets World

29 Jan

Are you ready to see Cory and Topanga as parents?

When news broke that a sequel to ABC’s Boy Meets World was in the works, 90s kids went wild with excitement. Things got more nostalgic when Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel both agreed to reprise their roles as Cory and Topanga. With the original main characters back on board, Producer Michael Jacobs, who also worked on the original series, had only one major role left to cast – Cory and Topanga’s teenage daughter.

Rowan Blanchard

Rowan Blanchard

After a nationwide search TVLine has confirmed that 11 year old Rowan Blanchard will play the couple’s 13 year old daughter, Riley. Blanchard’s previous credits include Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D and The Back-up Plan.

Production for Girl Meets World begins next month.

Delicious or Nutritious? Destino

Every now and then I like to treat myself to an expensive meal I wouldn’t otherwise pay for, so on night I found myself at Destino. Unfortunately my $40 meant only one meal – no appetizers or dessert, but it was well worth it.

Salmon vino blanco

Salmon vino bianco & capperi

For $24, I went with the Salmon Vino Bianco & Capperi. This was definitely one of the best dishes I’ve tried in Manhattan! The white wine sauce was divine and kept the fish nice and juicy. Normally I don’t care much for potatoes that aren’t fried, but with the white wine sauce these potatoes were great – and a perfect portion to prevent carb overload.

Broccoli with Salmon vino blanco

Broccoli with Salmon vino bianco & capperi

There was still a little money left so for $8 I ordered a side of veggies – Broccoli, steamed to be exact. I guess since each steam was so long it was double the average price for a side of broccoli? This side was well worth it though, as each stem was steamed PERFECTLY!

I love that the salmon was so succulent. I wish that it were more affordable!

With it’s perfectly prepared salmon and oversized broccoli, Destino is DELICIOUS and NUTRITIOUS!
