Ray J casts Kardashian look alike in “I Hit it First” video

29 Apr

After dropping a new single titled “I Hit it First”,  Singer/actor Ray J was quick to claim the song was not about his famous ex Kim Kardashian. As if the blatant references to his former flame including the lyrics “she might move on to rappers and ball players”  and  “now she chose to go West” coupled with the blurred image of  Kardashian emerging from the water weren’t enough Ray J’s entire video is an even less subtle jab at his ex.

The video features Ray J rapping alongside expensive cars and jets, and getting into bed with a curvaceous lady with long black hair and an affinity towards black, body skimming clothing.  We also see little references to Kardashian’s hometown (Los Angeles) and that of her current beau/baby’s father Kanye West (Chicago).  But this has nothing to do with Kim Kardashian right Ray J?

Like it Love it, Gotta Have it! New Curly Hair Products

25 Apr

Ever since this movement to embrace one’s natural texture has happened, being a curly girl has gotten ten times easier! Not only are there more products that cater to wavy/curly strands, but former curly cult brands have become mainstream, meaning you can get them at mass retail stores like Target and Walgreens!

Some of my favorite tried and true curly girl brands have been cooking up new products. Here’s a few I can’t wait to get my hands on:

Early morning workouts mean detangling my bedhead so that I can put it in a presentable ponytail before leaving the house. This is where DevaCurl’s No Comb Detangling Spray would come in handy. I hate combing my hair before it’s been washed or conditioned so hopefully a few spritzes of this stuff and I can fingercomb my hair into a workout ready style.

Jelly Soft Curls Miss Jessie's, $14

Jelly Soft Curls
Miss Jessie’s, $14

You need gel because it makes your hair look shiny but it also makes your hair hard and crunchy – what’s a girl to do? Miss Jessie’s released their latest styler called Jelly Soft Curls! Just squeeze out a quarter size amount into your palm, and apply it section by section to  damp (not wet) curls covering your entire head.

Gotta Have it!

JCS_HydrateFor those days you don’t wash but still need to add a lil moisture to your do Quench from the Jane Carter Solution looks like a great leave-in spray to hydrate and detangle. Apparently it does double duty as a heat protector when flat-ironing or blow-drying.

Beyonce performs ‘Grown Woman’ in Paris during Mrs. Carter tour

24 Apr

Fans have been on edge since Beyonce teased, then debuted her latest commercial for Pepsi. The commercial features Beysus dancing off against previous versions of herself to a new tune, “Grown Woman” but we still have yet to hear the song in its entirety.

Beyonce-–-Grown-Woman

One fan, apparently wealthy enough to get closeup tickets to her show in Paris uploaded footage of King Bey performing the new track on stage during her Mrs. Carter tour.

Her performance of the much anticipated song features a multitude of dancers, including the African twins shown in her HBO documentary, a blindfolded dance sequence and choreography that appears to have a heavy West African influence.

The icing on the cake? Check out that outfit!!!

Like it, Love it, GOTTA Have It!: Mango Summer ’13

19 Apr

You probably couldn’t tell just by looking outside lately, but we’re in the middle of spring, and summer will be here before we know it. Even though this spring wardrobe has barely been utilized I’m anxious to add a few new warm weather pieces.

Lucky for me, Mango’s Summer ’13 collection quite a few cute items. My budget doesn’t allow for me to buy the entire line, so i I have to make due with just three. Here are my top picks:

I live for printed pants, esp in light colors. They’re great for adding flavor to an outfit without jewelry and look great with basic tops and shoes.

Spring/summer nights means lots of outings, and you can’t wear the same thing twice on Instagram! This green number is a summer alternative to the classic LBD.

GOTTA have it!

Nobody can work a white dress like I can. Okay, maybe Gwyneth Paltrow, but still. I’d switch this up one day with blue shoes, and nude or gold on another.
