Esta Fiesta’s fall shopping wishlist

Everything I’m hoping for this fall…

Non-black booties

Peppy Nine West, $99

Nine West, $99

It’d be great to have  a pair of colored stylish ankle boots to keep my feet warm. I’m over having to wear my one pair of black booties in the fall and would like a little variety.

White pumps

Genial Nine West InStyle Collection, $79

Nine West InStyle Collection, $79

White pumps have been hot for the past few seasons and for some reason I still haven’t bought any. Some people find them tacky, I say, they’re FABULOUS! I’m hoping I can find a cute pair on sale since it’s past Labor Day.

A Bright bag

Aldo, $55

Aldo, $55

Since I’m not a huge fan of dark colors I’ll need something to offset hiding underneath a big black coat and black riding boots. Any color, whether it’s a mellow yellow, trendy cobalt or of the moment emerald would do just fine.

Leopard print flats

I need a new pair of flats and I feel like a nice leopard pair works with most of the fall trends.

I’m on the lookout for all these items at affordable prices this fall so if you see any let me know! What are YOU pining for this season?

Like it, Love it, GOTTA have it: Printed Shoes

12 Apr

Shoes are really having a moment right now with all the different trends being easily incorporated into this necessary accessory. One of my favorite styles right now are prints on shoes.

Prints on shoes are great  because they’re a non-committal way to step into a bold trend without diving full in. Here are three printed pumps I’m dying to get my hands on this week.

Keds, $50

Remember Keds? Their recent collaboration with Taylor Swift is making them cool again. If you must run errands in comfort at least be stylish too. The style and color on these shoes scream “spring”. Zoom in on the dots – they’re a mix of actual dots and tiny paw prints. Yeah T Swizzle is trying become an adult but she’s not completely there yet.

Petra Multicolored Floral Print Pumps
Loft, $79.50

Floral is not just a trend to me, it’s essential to my wardrobe. The only thing more fun than a floral frock or top is a basic outfit that incorporates florals on your feet. These pointy toe pumps from Loft are fun and go with my favorite spring brights such as purple, yellow and blue.

GOTTA have it

Flax in Black.GreenNine West, $69

Flax in Black.Green
Nine West, $69

I’ve always been obsessed with the MOD scene, and I’m so glad Mad Men has made it cool again. In addition to the pieces I can pick up from Banana Republic I’m DYING to add these to my wardrobe.  When paired  with simple dresses that have clean lines these make a modern take on 60s style.

Help! I… can’t wear fake jewelry!!

12 Mar

Let’s be real – accessories make the outfit. No one looks fab in just a pretty dress – shoes and jewels really bring an ensemble together. But what if your accessory choices are limited because you can’t wear faux metals cause marks on your skin the real deal leaves a dent in your wallet? Try these simple wardrobe adjustments to add flavor to an outfit without sacrificing your skin.

Clear nail polish

How can clear nail polish make or break your outfit? Dab a little on your faux silver or gold earrings to avoid the irritation and scarring they might otherwise cause.

Mix prints

You don’t have to rely on jewelry to add the za-za-zhou to your ensemble, let your clothes speak for themselves. Make prints a regular part of your wardrobe and even go as far as to mix them head to toe. Just make sure to keep different prints in the same color category to keep the look together.

Play with color

Black dress, black bag, black shoes – monochrome is simple and dresses up well with a few metal accessories, but if you can’t wear fine jewelry stay away from the monochrome. Create outfits that utilize complementary and contrasting colors. This floral dress with bright shoes keeps your outfit fun so you don’t need extra accessories.

Macy’s gets $400 million facelift… for your FEET!

13 Aug

Now the world’s largest department store will also have the world’s largest shoe department

According to WWD, Macy’s Herald Square recently unveiled a major portion of its new shoe department, which they’re calling “the largest shoe floor in the world.” Upon completion, the shoe department will reportedly hold 280,000 pairs of shoes, a 50% increase from what it previously held. To create a total of 63,000 square feet of selling space, Macy’s is converting a large portion of their storage space into selling space.

The floor will be arranged into categories which include big brands like Michael Kors, more affordable brands like Nine West, fashion-forward brands such as Rachel Roy, designer shoes such as Stuart Weitzman and athletic shoes and comfort brands.

Other new amenities include iPods for sales associates to make non-cash transactions and ease communication with the stock room. Associates will be able to send photos of the requested shoes and sizes; guess that means no more associates disappearing to the back to find your size?
